Nicole Gueniat, DVM

Dr. Gueniat was fascinated by all creatures on earth as a little girl. Her room was furnished wall to wall with pictures from the animal world.  She walked other people’s dogs, she spent every free minute after school at the horse barn, and she raised tadpoles to frogs.  Her first pets were three hamsters. At age 12 Dr. Gueniat assisted a pigmy goat when giving birth to three baby pigmies.

Her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian became true when she graduated from Veterinary School in Bern, Switzerland, in 1983. She trained in the specialty of reproductive physiology and internal medicine at Iowa State University and Oklahoma State University.  In the spare free time, Dr. Gueniat enjoys singing in the Swiss Singing Society Harmonie together with her husband, and outdoor activities like hiking and skiing.

Mary, Hospital Manager

In addition to being married for 26 years with three children and one granddaughter, Mary still has a lot of love left for her pets.  For starters, she has four dogs: a pug named "Kimbo", a Maltese named "Duckie", "Snoopy" the Miniature Poodle and an overweight (but on a diet) English Bulldog named "Gordo".  Mary doesn’t stop there -- she also has a cockatoo named "Gypsy" and a parakeet named "PB Jelly". 

Mary has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, and has been working in the veterinary field for over 15 years.  She began working at Monrovia Animal Medical Center in December of 2006.  Her hobbies include cooking and spending time with her precious but very spoiled granddaughter, Mia Jordan.

Karen, Client Relations

Karen is a client relations associate at Monrovia Animal Medical Center.  She has been working for Dr. Gueniat since May of 2006 and enjoys working with all her coworkers.  Before working with animals, Karen spent many years working for mortgage lenders and with a credit insurance company.

She has previously worked at two other animal hospitals.  Karen feels fortunate to have joined the animal care field and says she has found her true calling.  Karen is the proud adoptive mother of two rescued Chihuahua mix dogs, "Franky Santana" and "Willow Blue", and is  Auntie to "Maulie", "Kayte", "Scabby Cat" and many other K-9’s and felines.

Andromeda, Client Relations  

 

Andromeda graduated from High School in 1998 and shortly after, began her career in retail management, where she learned all the skills of client relations and perfected her proficiency in working with different types of clients.  After working for a corporation for approximately seven and a half years, she decided it was time for a change. 

 

Andromeda then began working for Dr. Gueniat at Monrovia Animal Medical Center in early 2005, as a client relations associate. She enjoys coming to work every day and continues to expand her knowledge in animal care and well being.  Her goal at Monrovia Animal Medical Center is to serve you and your pets in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. 

Rachel, Veterinary Technician

Rachel is an assistant technician here at Monrovia Animal Medical Center.  Animal behavior and animal nutrition are two areas in which she is very interested.

Rachel has one dog (an Italian Greyhound), two cats, seven fish, and one crawdad.  She is currently attending Citrus College to acquire her general education degree.  Rachel plans on transferring to Mt. Sac, where she will enter their registered veterinary technician program.

Deborah Lin, Veterinary Assistant

Deborah is currently contemplating becoming a veterinarian, so in the meantime, she is playing with people's pets and learning as much as she can to treat the animals ailments from Dr. Gueniat at Monrovia Animal Medical Center.

She currently has one dog named Chocolate, but has had several animals while growing up, ranging from a rabbit, a guinea pig, a hamster, a chinchilla, four budgies, two red ear sliders, three beta fish, a cat, and several dogs.
